Rob Preston
Broadcast Designer
Rob started his career at Clemenger BBDO Sydney as a film editor, editing and post-producing TV commercials and corporate videos, working with the creative department and renowned directors and editors.
Rob relocated to Newcastle in 2007 and decided to go freelance, allowing him time to further his studies, taking a communications course majoring in film studies at Newcastle University.
Rob’s love of music and guitar led to him studying at the Australian Institute of Music.
Through his development as a musician and his deep interest in the emotional response of audiences to music and sound in film, Rob expanded his studies to cover sound design.
For each project I work on, I take pride in dedicating a high level of finesse and polish. This is what drives me to keep creating.
Since his arrival at Headjam, Rob's sound design has been recognised at the AGDA awards and singled out for praise by Gruen presenter Todd Sampson.
Rob has continued to expand his skill set into animation and motion graphics.
In his spare time he plays guitar and indie computer games.
