PEEL HR's founder Danielle Carney engaged Headjam as their creative agency to refresh the PEEL HR Brand identity, and to create dynamic visual solutions for promotion of the business at several industry expos in New South Wales and Victoria throughout 2012. Since then, we have had a great collaborative relationship with Danielle over the years; developing a series of promotional material and books that Danielle and her team have authored for their clients.
In 2014 Danielle contacted Headjam to develop a printed book that arm leaders within organisations with tools and strategies to deal with and tackle workplace bullying.
Objective
To translate the collateral that Danielle and the Peel HR team had developed into a clean, simple and digestible book for leaders in the workplace.
Creative Solution
We started out by understanding the core information that Peel HR were trying to articulate to their clients. A series of paragraph styles, grids, typography and colours were selected to form the crux of the concept and layouts. The book itself was designed to be a companion, and was tailored to each organisation.
We set about collaborating with Local Newcastle Typographer Sophie Brown to custom illustrate the font for all title pages throughout the book. We sourced imagery from Peel HR’s library and used these to break up the content. To further the handcrafted theme all of the infographics and charts were hand illustrated also. The user was encouraged to make the book their own by writing within its pages.
