Background

MAK WorkWear are owned by Troy and Hannah two local novocastrians with their workshop in Carrington, they started in 2007 when Reece Plumbing Supplies asked Troy, current Director of the company, and back then carpenter, to design a pair of pants to reduce warehouse requirements. Troy came up with the brilliant idea of creating a triple stitch line for three different leg lengths– Stout, Regular and Tall. This invention was named 'Cut To Fit' ®.

The Cut to Fit ® are all manufactured with three per-hemmed leg lengths allowing companies and re-sellers to hold less stock, incur less wastage and manage uniforms more easily. This product development is patented by MAK WorkWear. Currently, MAK WorkWear is stocked in around 50 stores across the country and over 300 stores through Reece's network. They possess a moderate B2B base, with companies ranging from 3-300 employees. They also supply to different councils through retailers.

MAK is a privately owned and operated brand with expertise in design, manufacturing, sourcing and complete fulfillment of high quality workwear. MAK offers a complete uniform solution including personal protective equipment (PPE) and promo items including but not limited to stubby holders, caps, sunglasses and customised uniform options (MOQ 300+).

They are also expanding, they have taken on a UK distributor who wants to use the Cut to Fit ® worldwide (Excluding Aus and NZ). They have opened a shop front in Carrington with in-house printing and (soon to be) screen printing. They also offer embroidery services. They are also the sole distributor of KM Workwear, the only workwear brand on the market to offer a full segmented tape range.

To position themselves, they use a mix of catalogues, Instagram and on-site signs and banners to promote their products.

Over the past 7 years, MAK has established the brand into the Australian market as a leader in innovation; their slogan is “workwear with a difference”. MAK works to cultivate new ideas and utilise innovation patents which are developed from the feedback from our customers. A brand keen to listen to what the market wants.
