Digital marketing uses websites, email, mobile phone 'apps' and social media like Facebook in a mix of innovative ways to deliver advertising to highly focussed audiences.

Headjam uses digital marketing to reach your customers via their mobile phones, tablets (like iPads), computers, gaming consoles and laptops. Because it is so commonly used, social media marketing and so called 'electronic word of mouth' (eWoM) are a very important part of digital marketing.

There are two main ways of using digital marketing: push and pull.

Push digital marketing is sent without the audience actively looking for it, for example, advertising displayed on websites. Pull digital marketing responds to web searches, is sent in emails and sms messages, or read on blogs and watched in streamed video and audio. Here, the customer has to do something to view the content.

The big difference with push and pull is that pull can be more accurately targeted, and its results more closely measured. It also has more effect, because the customer gets to choose.
